BURNING MAN

Burning Man is a yearly festival that lasts one week, ending at Labor Day.  It is held at the Black Rock Desert, 120 miles north of Reno, Nevada - a huge playa, frequented by choking dust storms.  The occasion is the epitome of creativity and free spirit.

In 2007 nearly 48,000 people attended Burning Man, creating the fourth largest city in Nevada. After it is over, the area returns to stark desert.

In 2008, there were nearly 50,000 people.

These images represent to me a profound sense of spirituality, both visually and emotionally.
